How to transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones

To send and receive files between two BlackBerry® smartphones using Bluetooth® wireless technology, complete the following steps:
BlackBerry 6
  1. Enable Bluetooth technology on the BlackBerry smartphones. For instructions, see the Turn on Bluetooth technology section of the BlackBerry User Guide.
  2. Make the smartphones discoverable. For instructions, see the Make your BlackBerry device discoverable section of the BlackBerry User Guide.
  3. Pair the smartphones. For instructions, see the Pair with a Bluetooth enabled device section of the BlackBerry User Guide.
  4. Set the Trusted field to Yes on both smartphones by completing the following steps:
    1. In the Bluetooth application, highlight the smartphone and press the Menu button.
    2. Select Device Properties.
    3. Set the Trusted field to Yes.
    4. Press the Menu button and select Save.
  5. Send and receive the transferred file.
    On the recipient's BlackBerry smartphone
    BlackBerry 6 has a universal receive mode for all paired and trusted devices. When two BlackBerry smartphones have been paired, a smartphone running BlackBerry 6 can receive files at any time as long as the two smartphones are in range of each other, and the other paired Bluetooth device is trusted. Once a file has been sent from a trusted device to a smartphone running BlackBerry 6, the user will receive the following prompt to save the file as well as provide a file name:
    Please choose the location where you wish to save the file.
    Note: In order to determine the origin of incoming Bluetooth connections, ensure that paired smartphones are configured to prompt and not set to trust.
    On the sender's BlackBerry smartphone
    1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, select Media.
    2. Choose the media typed desired to send (Music, Videos, Pictures, Ring Tones, or Voice Notes).
    3. Highlight the file to be sent.
    4. Press the Menu button and select Send > Bluetooth.
    5. When prompted to select a Device, select the recipient's BlackBerry smartphone.

BlackBerry Device Software 4.5 and 5.0

  3. Pair the smartphones. For instructions, see the Pair with a Bluetooth enabled device section of the BlackBerry User Guide.
  4. Set the Trusted field to Yes on both smartphones by completing the following steps:
    1. In the Bluetooth application, highlight the smartphone and press the Menu button.
    2. Select Device Properties.
    3. Set the Trusted field to Yes.
    4. Press the Menu button and select Save.
  5. Send and receive the transferred file.
    On the recipient's BlackBerry smartphone
    1. On the Home screen of the smartphone, select Media.
    2. Select a media type (Music, Video, Ring Tones, or Pictures).
    3. Press the Menu button and select Receive using Bluetooth. The File Transfer dialog box appears, followed by a prompt to Save or Cancel the file.
    4. Select Save to save the file to the current location, or select the folder icon to save the file in a different location.
    On the sender's BlackBerry smartphone
    1. On the Home screen of the smartphone, select Media.
    2. Select the same media type selected on the recipient's smartphone.
    3. Press the Menu button and select Send Using Bluetooth.
    4. When prompted to select a BlackBerry smartphone, select the recipient's smartphone.
